I don't because I don't want my cap used up. But going forward how important will it be that others don't use your internet connection, when we are possibly moving toward this, where BT are actively encouraging people to share theirs.

I wouldn't be too in favour of this - let them pay for it themselves. On the other hand it could be a boon for file sharers and downloaders of kiddie porn so on that basis I broadly in favour.
