Reclaiming Doctors fees on tax for new born baby

    Hi All

We recently had a baby boy. We went the private route to do this, so to fund this we used our VHI subscription, however that didn't cover our Doctors fees of 3400e. As I have receipts for the consultations etc, can these be used to reclaim some of this money from our Tax payments?

Yes you can claim tax relief. Check out the revenue website for details.

normally you wait until you have all the expenses from a year before submitting. but they came back pretty quickly - mine took about 3 weeks to be processed
