    Yes, horse's, no more fox's :p
And no more cropping issues, i.e. which crop is best, now I wont crop at all, it will make me think about the shot a bit more before I take it

I was bored today so I went picking blackberries and came across some nice horse's. I didn't have any ND filter's with me so I had to resort to adjusting the aperture and shutter speed to prevent whiteout (f12 @ 1/300 ISO 100), yes it was that bright out. I'm pretty happy with what I got (shown below), the only thing is the sky, to me it doesn't look natural, but god's honest truth it was that colour.

Number 2 gave me a bit of trouble, the horse's side were near black as the sun light came from the side, I think the saturation may need to change and maybe a bit more dodge/burn on the clouds ?

Apart from that I'll let you decide on what doesn't work, and please be honest ;)
    danke schon

I love 2 and 3, really nice colours and beautiful symmetry in 2 and in 3 its a great pose with some nice space to go into. Number one his/her ears are not up and number 4 I would like a different angle showing some detail on the eye. Very well done though, where did you find them?

Number 1 ? the ears look up to me ?
Number 4, I did try to take some eye detail, only realised when I got back home most of the eye detail was on his "dark" side, have to give PS a go and see what I can do. But a dark eye on black skin, I'll see what I can do.

As for where they are ? they're about 100 yards from my garden, if I look out the window I can see them :D and there's 5 adults and 4 foals (well were foals)

hmm interesting, I have no experience with horse's at all so I don't "understand" their body language yet, but his ears are up :p

I've got to agree with borderfox -the ears in 1 are more general contentment than alertness... I guess an analogy is a sleepy half smile on a person. I'd probably rate the others higher because of it. Horsey-people do notice these things :o

But I still really like them - particularly the profile shot. Don't forget to take lots of shots of the new foals next spring!

I'm about as far away from being a horsey person and I am from the moon, so this is all new to me. This evening I was out again, "staking out" the fox's den when they came over to me, they sniffed my hands back etc. then the "accepted" me, now I can walk in between them within 2-3 feet with no problems at all, christ another 200 RAW files to go though, again grrr

About the eye's on horse's, I can capture the detail of the eyelid, but as for detail on the iris etc, I drawing a blank, even up close I just can't see any detail, maybe a dull reflection but that's about it ? Is this normal ?
