Hi all,

I'm new to this section of boards, so I hope my post isn't old/unimportant to some of you guys.

I've never truly made my mind up about the paranormal, other beings, aliens, ghosts etc.. (sorry to generalise), so I was hoping I could get some help here. I've always had a feeling that there is more to us than just existing and dying, I know this sounds like it should be in the spiritual forum but bear with me..

I have had a few 'experiences' that I'd like to share and hopefully someone could explain them if possible..

When I was a child, I used to live with my grandparents, until I was about 10 or so. When I was around 7 years old, I remember being in my room, my younger brother would have been 4 at the time, who slept in the bottom bunk, whilst I was in the top. It was around 11.30 or so, we were both awake as we could hear the adults chatting downstairs.. I was talking to my brother and a light came on, on the landing, so we both looked towards the direction of the door. There used to be a desk/locker near the door, and on this particular night there was a small bottle of Vicks (you know the vaporub stuff), on the desk, and it seemed to be almost swept off the desk onto the floor near the doorway..

I remember starting to cry (honesty is the best policy, don't laugh!) and calling for someone to come up - my brother somehow still remembers this too. Nobody believed me obviously.. It was strange, like as if someone walked over and just swept it right off the desk in a fit of anger..

I remember also I used to wake up a lot at night on the 11 minutes past the hour, e,g: 11.11pm, 12.11, 1.11 etc and on this one particular night I woke up at 4.11 (we had an alarm clock in the room with a bright green light) and I don't know what made me wake up but I looked towards the place in the room where the desk is, and I seen what I can only describe as a terrible cliché of sorts, a dark figure akin to the grim reaper, no face just a hood/robe, which had hints of dark dark red in colour.. I froze and pulled my covers up to my face and it was just looking in my direction, I don't know if I was seeing things in the darkness, but it felt real enough to me.. I turned to go under my covers and didn't come out til morning!

OK I realised I've gone on a bit now, but I've spent the last week reading into the soul and life after death, and out of body experiences and all sorts of things and it's really wrecking my head, all this talk of other entity's existing and hallucinations etc.. I'm not asking for proof, maybe just a little guidance or a push in the right direction for some info..

I do believe there is life outside earth though, as in aliens. If we exist, there must be some weird kind of parallel elsewhere in the universe? I mean, surely we can't be the be all and end all..

Also, what are people's opinions on Cryonics? Like, if someone like Alcor or the Cryonics Institute freeze your brain (hoping to freeze your memories and personality), where does the soul go? If there is one!

aaahh...

This is all too much to handle!

Re the Vicks thing, circumstances like that are common when we are children. It is believed that children's minds are more open and subsceptible to the supernatural plain, particularly where poltergeist are concerned. I had a similar experience when i was child that was witnessed by my mother and brother where my tin whistle played sounds for about 1 second.

Re 11, that is also a common phenomemen. There has been a thread on it previously on this forum but i cant seem to find it. Personally i dont believe it to be as much a supernatural phenomemen as i believe that the number 1 is the most common number in use out there there the frequency of encountering it is higher. Just my 2c.

hi funkyflea im not sure who or wat it is that u saw but it could beconnected to the house.was there previous owners.i know wat its like to live in a house thats haunted by a not so nice pressence.u say ur number seems to be 11.my number seems to be 3.i could be the 3rd person to post on a board or 3 will come up on a lottery ticket my house is number 13.my 2 sisters and 2 brothers all have 7 in there birthday except me.im 9/11.as for cryogenics im not to sure about that.in a way i wouldent mind having a go but if it worked u could defrosted in about a
100 yrs id be well out of my depth then.have they even frozen a person yet.u wouldent know with the way things are going.cloning is another thing that wont get the go ahead for human trials the clone would look like u but have a different soul.i wouldent like another me going around

Interesting point about the number 1, I had heard the 11 thing is common enough though.


Mesa regarding the house, it was old alright yeah, had previous owners etc.
Also, they have frozen people. Some full bodies and some just brains frozen..it's very crude at the moment though there is no way to reverse it.

When my grandfather passed away in hospital last year I believe he came to see me afterwards as this rock i have that says "LOVE" on it was placed on my computer table!! (I didnt put it there before leaving about an hour before and no one else in my family knows i have it) and that weekend i was home alone,they had gone for the funeral and i had some stuff occur... My fathers alarm clock was ON so i turned it off and THE NEXT MORNING it was on again!! (I had turned it off saturday morning (My dad forgot to)) I spoke to my grandpa and told him he should goto his funeral which was that day and i invited him back after if he wanted to come back but i havent felt his presence since

Made me feel good he came to see me,i loved my grandpa alot!! -- Ever since my grama passed on years ago i really had been talking to Gramps ALOT on the phone!!

I do mi$$ him dearly.........

Sometimes things occur around the time of someone's death that make you feel a bit better.

I remember when my uncle, who I was very close to, died a few years back. We got a phone call from a relative at around 1 in the morning to pass on the news and, after sitting there numb with shock for a few minutes, I switched on my bedside radio and 'Imagine' by John Lennon was playing. My uncle was huge fan of Lennon's when he was alive.

Now, I don't know if it 'meant' anything but it made me feel a bit better for a few moments anyway.
