I just want to advise people who are arriving in Luxor airport with Budget Travel not to allow themselves be shepherded into the queue for your Egyptian entry visa that the Budget Travel representative at the airport will try to steer you towards.
There are a few bank counters on the left-hand side as you enter the airport, get your visa here instead. My friend and I got our visas here after reading up on it on the internet. These counters charge you the official price of $15 (about €11).
Our fellow travellers who bought their visas from where there were instructed to by the Budget Travel reps were charged €22.
Can you believe that?? Double the price!!!
The ironic thing is that once you get on the bus is that the same rep will warn you not to allow yourself be ripped off while in Egypt.
