having read about the joys and tribulations of trying to get a camera bag and tripod through ryanair carry on procedures I thought it might be interesting in canvassing peoples views on camera bags as I am in the market for one

Currently torn between one just for camera and gear (D80, 18-135, 70-300, 50 and anyting else that may be bought in the future) or also to get one that takes a laptop (12.5”(W) x 1.0"-1.5"(H) x 9.3”(D) per the manufacturers website)

I see Compurover AW and Computreker AW Plus mentioned else where. Has anyone experience of how these compare.

Had also looked at the Tamrac Adventure 9 - any thoughts

    Thanks

I have a few bags for different situations -

The Computrekker is used for everything from business trips without the camera, weekends away, college (when I studied photography), situations where I need both camera and computer. I have even been known to replace the camera compartment with a fully loaded TLZ AW so that I have a small bag.

The Rover II AW I use for hiking with a big tripod, long haul trips, photoweekends ... since it can be used as carry on luggage and can take a fair amout of gear plus your stuff for the flight.

The Slingshot AW (500 ?? ... big one) I use in situations where I am going to popping gear in and out of the bag a lot and I only need camera gear plus small items like a bottle of water ... this one probably get the most use , though I have been travelling a lot lately and the Computrekker has been most handy for this ...

The TLZ AW is a small bag which I use for siutations where I don't want a big one ... great for cities ... takes two lenses and a normal size body ... thought it is a big redundant now I have the 1D.

I've got a computrekker plus and that's airline carryon. You wouldn't be carrying it on for very long when it's fully loaded with gear & a 17" laptop, but it holds it comfortably. If I were you I'd get the computrekker
