    Hi,

Anyone know what you should do about the set top box for NTL digital? Am moving, cancelled account by phone (30 days notice pay they want, greedy bastards).

They said nothing about the box. I have no use for it, and I don't know what will happen to this place when I leave. Are you legally responsible for the box?

A neighbour of mine cancelled her digital with NTL and was told to do what she liked with the box then after another call to NTL she was told that the next time there was someone from NTL in the area he would call in and collect the box that was over 2 months ago now and she still has it nobody has called so I don't think they'll be collecting the box.I'd just leave it there or give them a ring a ask what is going to happen with it,if they tell you to do what you like I'd take it with me.

Do what you like, they're not bothered.

She should've listened to the first call...

Perhaps you're missing the point that NTL own the box. Just because a lazy CC rep doesn't care. It doesn't mean the company won't come looking one day and expect the owner to pay for it.

OP I would try to get it back to NTL somehow. Perhaps sent to a freepost address or similar. ;)

But the box may be one that isn't issued anymore. Plenty of people who got the DVR weren't asked for their old set top box.

Very unlikely NTL will persue them for it, so if I was told I could do what I liked with it from customer service, I'd take it at face value.

I need a lawyer. Will you be it? If all your cases are this rock solid you'll make billions.
