Just had an order shipped to me from Play.com today and was wondering how the Royal Mail strike is likely to affect it. As far as I know Jerseys postal serves Jersey Post is a separate company from Royal Mail so how much of an impact will it have?

It has to go through the UK to get to Ireland, as far as I know, so I'd guess it'd be affected.

    From there web site.....

Further to previous information, Jersey Post is advising all customers to post as normal as processing will be continuing in Jersey and delivered to the UK. Inbound air traffic is set to continue to operate as normal but we will not know the impact until the day of arrival. There is still a possibility that the Industrial Action planned from today may be avoided, talks between Royal Mail and the CWU are continuing and Jersey Post are ready to put contingency plans into place with strike action anticipated for the next 5 working days. Ongoing delays are likely as severe disruption will create a backlog in the postal network.

Jersey Post contingency arrangments are in place to provide:

On Island mail service as normal
    Outbound International mail services
Mail services to and from Guernsey
Mail services to and from the isle of Man, on a trial basis
FedEx, Business Post and Parcelforce as normal
Special Delivery items but money back guarantees will be suspended
We would like to thank all of our customers for their patience and understanding and we will continue to provide information updates and customer advice as soon as further development become known. Any of our customers with specific concerns or who need any additional information can call the customer services team on 616616.

pulling a really old thread up here, but if something was put in the post this evening in London, and considering the strike is for the next two days, roughly when could I expect my post to arrive?
