I've organised my mates stag as part of my best man duties, we're off to Prague on the 12th Oct.

I'm trying to organise an activity that will

A: keep the lot of us out of the pub for a few hours on Saturday
B: Be a bit of craic

It going to be a fairly long weekend, lunch time friday till 11 pm Sunday so a bit of out of the boozer time is the only way I can see us lasting the pace for the weekend.

Has anyone here been on a stag over there? Did you do anthing as an activity on the saturday? Any good pubs/Clubs;) (or places to avoid)?

Also i'm trying to organise a bit of grub for all 20 of us on Saturday and I havent a clue where to book so, basically I'm open to any helpful suggestion about Boozers, restaurants and stuff to do on Saturday afternoon.

    Thanks for your help,

    Vic

    Try some shooting!

You'll have to organise taxis as it's WELL outside the centre.

Thanks for that Padraig, great suggestion but I ran it by the groom to be, despite my childish enthusiasm he didn't seem too interested in the gun thing. He wants to go go Karting instead???

So If anyone has gone go Karting in prague would you mind letting me know. Are the prices negotiable? Is haggling the norm over here, I found one go Kart place that is 12,000 Czk per hr + 19% Vat, for 3 hrs it's working out at over 80 euro per head (based on 20 people), seems a bit pricy to me ,thats before transport to and from the place.

Any one else got any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Victor

    Hi Victor,

I was at a stag in Prague last Summer and we went karting but I can't remember what the name of the place was. We organised it when we arrived through the hotel reception. It worked out around €75 per person for 15 of us and it lasted around 3 hours (full grand prix). This included a bus from the hotel and back again and a couple of free beers. Most hotels will organise this as they get commission.

We also went shooting. This cost €130 per person and included the bus and 3 or 4 beers. It was around an hour or 90 minutes outside Prague and lasted around 4 hours, great fun but if the groom isn't interested theres not much you can do...

The number one thing to know in advance is that ALL taxi drivers in Prague are rip of merchants. They will quote you at least 5 times what the fare should be, don't even get into the car until you agree a price. NEVER let them put the fare on the meter unless the taxi is booked through your hotel. The meters on most cars are rigged plus they will bring you around the city instead of where you're going...

If any taxi driver tries to overcharge you just say that you want to call over a policeman and he will leg it as there are very big fines for taxi drivers caught trying to overcharge tourists but they will still try it and some can be fairly aggressive.

The city is full of bars / brothels so pretty quickly you will get sick of every second woman asking you if you want a BJ!

Taxis aren't too bad these days though. Ring AAA Taxi on 14014 and they'll send one to you and give you the car's reference number so you know it's the right one.
