    does anyone know where you can get a decent 2nd hand bike for relatively cheap in dublin?

    If you're anywhere near Phibsboro there's a woman sells them from her garden opposite St Peter's church on the corner of NCR and Avondale Road.. I've bought a few there over the years and always reasonable enough

    That sounds really dodgy. How do you know they aren't stolen bikes?

    Few shops in Dublin will take 2nd hand bikes because there are just so many of them turning out to be stolen.

    Mikes Bikes in Patrick Street, Dun Laoghaire always has a supply of bikes in decent nick.
    I think he charges around €100 on average.
