N4 median at Palmerstown

    Hi,

Any idea what's going on at the median just under the Palmerstown Footbridge on the N4? For the past few weeks a portion of it has been sectioned off and I have just noticed a concrete structure beginning to take shape - the sort that wouldn't be out place as some sort of bridge support.

Is it related to the upgrade of the N4? I can't find anything specifically on it from the County Council website.

I don't know. But I also heard today that on Kennelworth Rd Upper all the trees have been cut down between the N4 and the 18 bus terminus/turnaround.

Maybe its a new foot bridge. Perhaps the old one needs to go because the road is being widened.

One of the other "M50-N4 upgrade" threads refers to two new pedestrian bridges being erected in the next few weeks.

    Edit: here it is
    * On the night of the 13th Oct the N4 will be closed between the M50 and the Liffey Valley Junction while the new N4 and M50 Pedestrian Bridges and 2 sign gantries are being erected. Diversions will be in place.

I think the 2 new footbridges are over the M50 (Kings Hospital to Old Lucan Road) and over the N4 (Liffey Valley to near Kings Hospital)

Maybe it is a support for a new sign gantry?

Noticed there are lots of yellow studs heading in towards town under the existing foot bridge

It was raining that night so maybe those male models were wearing oilskins for their night out in town.
