I thought I'd get peoples opinions on their favourite PS3 Game so far; the one that impressed them the most. I know there's a lack of 'must-have' titles right now but there are good games out there. For me it has to be Oblivion; the scope of it is just amazing!

Motorstorm blew me away and i hate racing games. Heavenly sword yes but its shortness really killed a great game.

Heavenly Sword by miles. It was short and the game mechanics were average but I still loved every second of it. Probably my favourite game on any platform since Shadow of the Colossus actually because it did something so few games have done lately and made me care about the characters, which makes a huge difference. The levels where you play as Kai really made the game for me, I'm still hoping for a Twing Twang only sequel.

Lair and Heavenly Sword are definitely the best looking games. However they don't do anything to show the aparrent greater power of the PS3 over the 360. In gameplay terms it's even worse.

and Rainbow 6 fot its multiplayer.

The one thing that pisses me off about Rainbow 6's multiplayer is every time I join an Attack and Defend game it's the ****ing Calypso Casino level, and it's some clan in there who have mastered the map and know all the sneaky little places to hide, drives me nuts. Just once I'd like to join and it be another map lol!

As for most impressive game, not sure, I'm really enjoying Warhawk. I GRAW2 is great too.

I haven't been that impressed by any of them so far, but I have yet to try Heavenly Sword. Want to see if I can either rent or borrow it (it's far too short, apparantly average, and with no replay value for me to buy it). Played Oblivion and RB6 on PC and 360 but they are both impressive.

It looks great but plays like a poor mans God of War/Devil May Cry.

Yeah it always seems to be bordertown or the casino level filled with annoying yanks. Host a game yourself for some variety :D

With all the talk of what makes a 'next gen' game I have to mention FIFA 08, as unlikely a candidate as it is.

There's something about logging into the game and automatically having an up to date podcast play with presenters telling you whats new in the game this week, what strategies people have been using online, whats going on in real football aswell, while at the same time you have tonights UEFA cup results in a ticker along the bottom of the screen while you go through menus. Then get into a game, score a goal you're proud of, and at the touch of a button the game will turn the goal into a flash movie and put it onto your profile on EA's website. The profile with all of your career stats visible in your web browser and an Avatar you can customise using your PC, by spending points earned on your PS3.

That's a lot of conceptual stuff that people talked about being 'the future' and its all there in the game right now and works together quite nicely, though there's certainly some teething problems too.

It also helps that the game itself is quite a leap forward with the new proper physics making a big difference. Probably the biggest leap a sports game has made since the jump to 3D a decade ago.

I have Oblivion on xbox360 and it is an amazing game, tbh Heavenly Sword is not my cup of tea, Its just button bashing imo but everyone to there own i say :), Motorstorm is a great game in short plays i couldn't sit and play for a few hours, Rainbow Six (i have also on 360 is a great game also well worth a buy) FFR is a must buy if your into boxing and great fun online or with friends.
Fifa08 has really surprised me tbh, great feeling of playing a real football match and thats coming from a PES head :D.

All in all there are lots of PS3 games out there that are good and bad in there own right, most of the good mentioned above

I'm starting to love Warhawk more and more, now that I'm starting to be able to hold my own in it.

A buddy called up a couple of weeks back and we played split-screen on it which was great fun. he's obsessed with it now, tempted to buy a PS3 for warhawk alone. He says he's even been dreaming about it:D

If that's not impressive I don't know what is lol.

After playing the demo, Ratchet and Clank is mighty impressive. Download the demo now if you haven't already and can drag yourself away from Warhawk.

I'm keeping my choices to games that I've actually played rather than stuff I've seen online for games that aren't released yet.
