Hi im not sure if this is in the right place, i think its is but anyway. I recently signed up for a broadband service 8 days ago to be exact and the connection was 1 meg when it should be 4 meg, i rang them up and said they would sort it out, over the weekend however it was not working at all and still is not, i rang them on monday with no reply so i left a message, when i recieved no reply yesterday i rang them in the evening and got no answer, i rang their sales department (i was originaly trying the tech support) they put me throught to tech support straight away :/ they said they would send out an engineer as soon as possible. now if decided they're unreliable and provide a bad service and want to switch, only problem is ive given them a 100 euro instalation fee and my direct debit details, any opinions?

Read the terms and conditions you agreed to. The 4Gb they quote is the maximum rate and the terms and conditions will probably say that it is acceptable for the speed to be below this.

Out of curiousity, is it "acceptable" for the connection to be running at a mere 25% of what the OP signed up for?!

    True.

OP should also read the sales material / blurb / advertisements for the representations made to see if he has been induced to enter into a contract by "fraudulent" misrepresentations.
