Need a new computer? Shuttle or Laptop?

    Hey guys,

My pc is a few years old now and is starting to act up so would like to get a new system. I am stuck between either a shuttle or a laptop.

The reason why I am stuck between those two is because I am in my final year and intend on going travelling the end of this year to New York for a year and would like to bring my system with me. I would like it to be new and powerful to play games if I want it to, like new strategy games etc. Not that big a gamer but I'd like the option if possible.

So should I make a shuttle pc? Or should I buy a laptop? I made my last computer and even though I don't know a lot about computers, I found it easy to do and I saved a lot of money so would be on for doing this again...

What do you guys think? Thanks a lot...

Would buying from America be a viable option if it was a laptop?

buying from america will save you alot of money, as the $ is very weak at the moment. But paying the import tax would make the price even out. So unless you have family over there that can ship it to you its not worth it. Personaly i would go for a laptop, as with a shuttle you still need to take the screen wtih you too. Although a shuttle would be powerfull, you can get equally powerfull laptops. And since new york is wifi heaven the laptop is a better idea again, as you can go chill out in central park and take the laptop.

Sounds good and where is a good place to get a laptop? I would love to try buy online using the dollar to my advantage. How feasible is this?

    Thanks for the post

i would reccomend you buy thte laptop when you get over there. And for now just buy a portable hdd so you can take all your data with you. But if you want to buy before hand there are 2 very good american sites. www.zipzoomfly.com and www.newegg.com there is also www.bestbuy.com

May I suggest a MacBook or MacBook Pro, there lovely machines and a nice spec and if your going to be in New York its worth dropping into a Apple Store :)
