Boards.ie No Limit Cash Game League Idea

Following on from Flushdraw's great Heads-up league. I was thinking it might be a good idea to have a No Limit Hold em cash game league on GJP also and running it along similar lines as the Heads-Up League. That is with entrance fees and prizes.
That is of course if Mike was ok with it.

    Initial thoughts on it....
    1. To have it based on monthly results.
    2. Have it split into the Series A, B, C and possibly more. Just like the Heads Up League, with the exception that there is no promotion or relegation. what level you play at is purely down to what you choose.
Serie A might be for example 5/10, Serie B 2/4, Serie C .5/1, Serie D .1/.2 (Just an example.. would obviously see what people thought were appropiate levels)
    3. Results to be based on maybe something like your first 100 table hours of the month. Maybe if you have done more than 100, say 300 it could be divided by 3.

The one problem that I can think with this is that it may be awkward to verify peoples results and it would rely on peoples pokertracker records. AFAIK GJP can only see how much you've won or lost in the month, but I guess if someone reported in figures that looked incompatible with their win/loss for the month on GJP then it would be.

The one big benefit of this imo is having a competition like this would actually help in focusing people to play their best game more often.

We've had a similar discussion to this before. This is almost impossible to verify especially if players have to play at just one level.

Also needing to put in 100 hours a month might be a problem for quite a few non-fulltime/non-student players.

Hmmm I thought I vaguely recollected a discussion alright. Do you have the link to the thread in where it was discussed plz.

Yeah no doubt the big problem is verification.
Not sure what exactly would be the best way around this.
Sending in pt records and screenshot of results might be the solution.

The number of hours though should not be a problem, it can be reduced or be different for each league, whatever would suit, 100 hours was just an arbitrary figure. Maybe Serie D could be 40 hours or something, that's only about 3 hours of 3 tabling each week.

If people were genuinely interested I think it could be made to work.
