Nikon Dx 55-200 VR spec query

    wondering does anyone have one of these lenses ,got one delivered today myself

    if so when moving towards the telephoto end there is a very slight resistance in the barrel of the lense

    the courier arrived with the outer box damaged hence my question

    Waiting on camera itself so haven't had a chance to try the lense yet

    I have one - there should be some resistance (and it isn't the smoothiest resistance either). This will ensure that the lens does not zoom by itself when you're shooting at a tilted angle i.e. pointed directly upwards/downwards.

    It's a great lens - bargain comparable to the 50mm f1.8!

    anyone know from where and for what price a genuine Nikon circ polarizer for this lense can be sourced from ?

    or a second best other manufacturer Circ polarizer recommendations ?

    ( 13 years since I bought one for a Canon 1000fn ! )

    52 thread on lense and standard lense ( arriving with the camera)
