Codes for a Canon iP90 Printer Problem

I have a portable Canon iP90 printer which cost €360 just over 18 months ago.

Last week I got a Service Error 5C00 message and the printer stopped printing.

Apparently, there's a sponge that wipes excess ink off the print heads after each use and there's a counter that keeps track of the number of times that this happens.

When the operation has been performed a certain number of times, the printer simply shuts down and you've got to give the printer to Canon's agents to replace the sponge.

That's all very well. The problem is that including the new sponge, VAT and shipping, the maintenance costs over €100. What a rip off.

Does anyone out there know the codes that will allow me to reset the counter? Apparently, short term at least, this will solve my problem.

Thanks in advance for you help.

    Gerry
