I need to get a form stamped for a new passport. Does anyone know if Garda stations typically have people on the front desk after hours? Or do I have to get it done during typical 9-5 hours? Want to try getting it done after work today but don't want to be heading in if they're only supposed to be open after 6 for emergencies.

Well going by your location as "Dublin" you should be fine :) There's nearly always someone on the front desk. Any Garda on the front desk can stamp it for you, just make sure you have your passport photos with you and you are not smiling in them! Oh, and sign them on the back too.

If there is someone manning the desk they should stamp it for you whatever the time. I've had a couple of things stamped at Garda stations in the early evening.

All Garda stations in Dublin close at 5 o' clock since Michael McDowell eradicated all crime!!

I get my things stamped in the Garda Station in Shankill. I'm sure I've had stuff stamped as late as 8/9 in the evening.

    Hi there
I know this answer is basically years late ... but in case anyone is interested, Kevin Street Garda Station is open 24 hours!
    See ya.

what a waste of garda resources it is to have police officers dealing with issues like signing passport applications
surely the reserves could deal with stuff like this
i realise the guards love little tasks like this but seriously

Glittergirl, dragging up old threads from the grave = cruel ;)

irish_bob, if you have an issue with Gardai workloads, the Travel forum isn't the place to discuss it.

Thread RIP from here on in ;)
