What are people finding affective for treating patio slabs? Also is there a proven universal brand of clear wood treatment that can be used for sheds and side gates (Wooden)Can they be stained later on if I wanted to?

I've been told that they should have some kind of treatment otherwise they can start to fade. Don't know anymore, sorry!
