Anyone know anything about this one?

Was looking at the 290 on ebay for about 40 euros?

is it any good or is it just a gimmick?

Well seeing as there's no software outside of Japan that utilises the PSP-GPS (well there might be homebrew that uses it, I don't know) unless you've imported Japanese games that use it you won't really be able to do much...

Well until next year that is. Last August at the Leipzig Games Conference Sony announced that they're bringing the GPS to europe next year (sometime in March/April?) with some of those PSP travel guides using it, and maybe we'll get a road map dealy and a couple of games that use it too.

So if you can wait that long I guess it might be worth it getting it now, you might save yourself some cash. Personally I'm thinking of getting it, but I'm gonna wait for the official euro release so I can actually use it properly.
