    Hi all,
im planning on giving my car a thorough clean, wax & polish prior to the onset of winter. Its a 72 W114, with tan interior, half MB-Tex (a Mercedes version of vinyl, looks like leather, and lasts forever) and half cloth.
Just wondering what cleaning agents would be suitable for this kind of material.

Also, from previous posters, i notice that Meguiars products have very favourable reviews. Is there a particular product(s) i should look out for?

    Thanks in advance

Howdy............I second the Meguiars reccomendation, I think the tex will respond well to pretty much anything but cloth is best tackled with a foam type cleaner, but you will need to moisten first and allow plenty of drying time afterwards.

Tackle stubborn stains with "dry cleaner" ...........something like "Vanish" and ensure the area is colourfast by testing on an inconspicuous area first !

    Thanks guys.

Ben, when you say to "moisten the cloth first", do you mean to give the cloth a pre-soak with water, or just to give time for the foaming cleaner to penetrate the material?

Unfortunately my drivers seat is starting to fray, i reckon from wearing jeans with rivets on my lardy ass  ... as a quick fix i'll just put a cover on the seat, but it looks like i'll need to get some upholstery work done soon :(

............yes you need to get the upholstery wet before applying the foam, that way it will lather up better which is what you want. The lather/foam takes the dirt out !
