I'm in work, and the fire alarm is going off.

Checked with the switch and personnel, its for real.

But I'm watching Little Britain episodes on youtube so should I leg it or wait until I smell smoke?.

I think to stay, even if the fire didn't reach you, would be death.
Little Britain will rot your mind with cheap and repeditive humour. Best to leave now and never watch that tripe again.

Such a hard life you lead, then again I'd rather work than watch Little Britain to be honest.

You should have your job description revised to help the recruitment and selection team when they try to fill your vacancy someday? Let's see...

    1. Able to watch sitcoms and soaps without panicing while firealarms sound.

    2. Other qualifications?;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,563 ✭✭✭connundrum

Do tell more of this 'job' you claim to have. I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter and sumsuch.

On another point, I wouldn't be surprised if loads of people were killed/injured if a fire were to happen in an office building/apartment block. I'd say less than 10% of people actually get out in the first 2 mins.. this is according to my experience anyways.

    Down with pyromaniacs :(

Last time I seen a fire alarm was in a factory with 100's of people. About half of them went into the canteen for tea on the way out because, as one young lass so elequently put it, "Its too bleedin cold out for fookin fire alarms".

The man with the stopwatch was not amused.

Last time we had a fire drill in work everyone marched out of the building and
then most people promptly turned on their heels and marched back in to get
a cup of coffee and a jacket because it was cold!

It was close enough to lunch time so others just hopped straight into their
cars and headed off for some food.

Am I the only person ever to get burned in a fire drill?

Middle of August with an assembly point that had no shade and me in a t-shirt.

Burned to a crisp I was!

    Take it easy.
There was no mention of the firemen from Bray in that post.
    It was just a joke.

I think this post is a little insensitive on the day that Sub-Officer Brian Murray R.I.P. is laid to rest.

Its not very funny , the proper proceedure during a Fire alarm activation is to evacuate the building, not watch youtube.
Its also Fire Safety week , during which education about fire escape plans etc are taught.
    Very insensitive and bad taste.

John, you are easily offended so. Get a grip and grow up. Its nothing to do with political correctness.
People have died in Commercial fires because of ignoring fire alarm activations. To joke about ignoring it is wrong.

    Next?
