Commencements

So. I am filling up my commencemtns forms (which are more difficult than the exams!!) and have realised I don't know who to send them to.

Anyone know? Is it examinatoins office, student records office or some other group?

Also if you have just finished an engineering degree, do you give your grade on the "Notice for candidature for the B.A. degree" and also tick "are you a candidate for the Ordinary/Allowed B.A. degree?". I ask because it also asks for results in the page for the "Notice of candidature for a Primary Degree other than B.A." which I assume the BAI part is.

    Oh the hassle....

btw I am abroad so can't call in and don't have the accompanying letter with me.

The human-orifice-sounding Proctor's Office, I think. I haven't filled in the form yet, am printing it off as I type.

    Myth,

Could you send em the link to where I can download the "notie of candidature" form? I need to return it by thursday, so printing and faxing it is probably my best option. I can't find it on the TCD website though (not very surprising).

I'm not Myth but from this on the Senior Lecturer's site, it looks like only the information sheet is available on the website. It says if you need another copy of the Notice of Candidature form then you have to contact the Proctors' Office

You can email the office [proctorATtcd.ie] and they'll send them out to you but you might be better off just calling in to the office (in House 5).

Edit: Just re-read Myth's post and he mentioned printing it off so maybe it is possible after all...

I need to get this sorted too. Can i just drop them into the proctors office or would i b best posting them somewhere now?

Best thing to do is ring the Proctors Office and ask - Tel: 896 1218. They'll tell you for definite what the best thing to do is. Anyone here can only offer advice.

This is really strange. I've no idea why I said printing in my previous post, since I had the forms in front of me at the time. I think I meant to say 'scanning them as I post' (as in with my eyes) but for some reason I typed printing instead. Apologies for the confusion. But yes, the Proctor's Office are all you need, when you need it.

I got my card stating that my forms (and payment, obviously) have been accepted.

Just a word to the wise.If you owe any fines or have any overdue books at the time your name appears on the proctor's list, they will need to be cleared before your commencment.
