    Hi.
My girlfriend has type 1 diabetes. She is an eu citizen but not an Irish national. She has worked in Ireland for over a year and would like to know if she is eligible for a medical card. She earns 350 a week.
It says on the medicalcard.ie site that
Applicants whose assessable income is in excess of the financial guidelines but where a GP visit card is granted to ensure the financial burden of medical or social circumstances does not cause undue burden.**
The max is 346 for the gp visit card and 254 for the medical card.
    Does she qualify?
    Cheers for reading.

It doesn't look like she will be eligible for a medical card, however, she may qualify for the Long Term Illness Scheme.
