Great prices on www.gadget-asia.com for Nintendo DS Lite and games - especially the bundle deals. I got the link to the site from a "sponsored link" on Amazon.

Has anyone used this site? Is it legit or just looking for my nice little euros??!!!

My advice, if you have spare cash, the go for it. Otherwise dont waste your time, although the item is cheap, once you place an order, the item possible take 6 months to come through. The support and sale is unprofessional. I order DS and memory, 7 weeks passed still not received, they refuse full refund.

Dont use them, services is so bad....

    Thanks for that Martiny.
Hope your order comes through soon.

Since they seem to be based in Hong Kong, I'd expect there is a possibility you'll be stung for duty etc also.

Well I live in UK (Bournemouth) and I bought from gadget-asia for like 2 times (Nintendo DS, and PSP). They both arrived on time. The first time I went with the economic shipping option (free), it arrived here in 7 days. The 2nd time I went with Fedex option, and it arrived in 3 days. So personally I think they're reliable. They got pretty much the best price on DS.

Oh, I didn't pay import VAT actually. I don't know why , but the out-of-door price was pretty much final.

No, but if you reread my post you'll see I said "I'd expect there is a possibility" not "you definitely will get stung" and that isn't making up ****, as it IS a possibility.

Play.com orders are being stung as it is. Nothing to stop customs doing same with other packages with no VAT paid. I'd prefer it if the customs ignored all HK and USA orders of course :)

My local postman told me that whether you get caught for duty is potluck really. They stand in a room filled with packages and go "Try that one, that one and that one...." Only a small percentage are selected and the rest get through no probs.

Our of interest, are the instruction manuals in japanese for items bought on gadget-asia ??

Even if this is a small percentage get caught for duty. The chance is still possible; they won’t refund or even sending a new one. So you pay for the items, and get nothing. I am sure there are other website does much better than gadget-asia. Is Ok if the item comes through the door, when the item doesn’t come through, basically they will ignore you.

If the PSP you order not arrived within 6 days, I bet your tone will be different. Can’t see gadget-asia is professional business. Just a bunch of C**boy register in HK try to run business.

I know that everyone wants something cheaper than the retail price we get on the highstreet, but please AVOID this site. Some of you have been fine, but you may be the lucky ones. This site was on one of the BBC programs. It had alot of complaints and is currently in investigation for selling counterfeits. I'm not sure about the PSPs but the DS are mostly cheap knock offs from China.

If you buy from this site.

Sometimes you will not get your product.

Or you will get a used product, or fake which will break in few days/weeks.

You will be charged Duty Tax.

You will not get any customer service.

Warranty is not valid, because they will argue that you have misused the product.

Return procedure must be completed in 2 weeks, but they will ignore your emails during this period.

You will have to pay shipping both ways to have your item checked and maybe fixed.(this will cost you upto 40~50 Pounds)

I have experienced this and because the company is based in HK
trading standards and regulation don't effect them.

They can do whatever they like.

I purchased a game, which was ok.
However, when I purchased an arcade stick which was faulty,
they will not refund or fix it unless I pay more money.
In the end I would spend double the amount, but they cannot garantee
that the item will not break again.

There are countless horror stories with this site on the web, so don't risk it seeing other people post that it is ok.(It could be the gadget-asia posting them)

    Please Avoid!

If anyone want further proof contact me as I have mails which I received from them, with lies after lies and asking me to pay more money.
