I got my first degree black belt (INTA) about 15 months ago. Since then Ive bein busy with a masters and have also lost interest. I havent bein training but half of me wants to start back.

The problem im having is my current club can be a bit to hardcore for my liking and the regulars while are very good arent coming down for instruction more to use the facilitates and spar. The culture of the club I feel has changed.

I cud move club to exchequer st HQ but my instructor trains there and I dont want him to think ive turned my back on the club ive trained with since it opened 5 yrs ago.

    Any thoughts

Talk to him before making your move. Honesty is the best policy.

Blue Lagoon has reverse knife handed the correct, talk to him and tell him how you feel. Hardcore in what way, too much sparring?

Ah yeah, talk to him first. He shouldn't have a problem with it, but letting him know first is a nice thing to do, showing a bit of courtesy ;):) .

People changing clubs is just the way it goes like, it's not a big deal.

Also, ask him if he'd know if there's other clubs that are more suited to what you want to get out of TKD, besides The Centre.

    Hi,

The fact that you haven't really trained in last 15 months means it is an ideal time to change clubs if that's what you want to do. Try to find a club you like first, whether it be exch st or another club that suits you location wise. I'd suggest going for a week or two to make you sure you do like the new club and then just say to your instructor how you're getting back to it, but that location wise / time wise this club really just suits you better. I bet he'll be just happy you're back training at all and really won't mind. You could always then pop into his club for the odd session also in the future with no awkward feelings.

pm me if you'd like me to recommend any other clubs anyway.

    Good luck

It's been 15 months, I'd be surprised if he remembers you ;)
