It's just the best thing ever! The first tourney is gonna be free too so we're basically giving money away!
Plus you'll get to talk to me at the table so it'll be worth it!

This is great! I hijacked the thread.
The free tourney will be on next wednesday at 2 or 3 in the venue.
We'll send around an e-mail beforehand anyways and it should be up on the website very soon.

It's all tournaments robdcu.
Technically you can't run a cash game without a licence so while it's fine to have one at home as an official society and what-not we can't really do em. Plus if someone were to lose all their food money at one of our games we'd have to deal with irate mothers calling Joe Duffy tryin to get us shut down.

The SU Pres actually took a call last year complaining about the fact there was a poker society. I always laugh thinking of that one.

Anyways as for whats on as I mentioned earlier the freeroll is on Wednesday, then after that we'll have weekly tornaments upstairs in the venue (the bit that's been refurbished) on Monday nights at around 7. Normally 10 euro freezeouts but we might throw in scalps at some stage to mix things up.

It's a good bit of craic and a great way to meet new people.
If anybody missed our stand today at clubs and socs (It was hard to miss!) then you can sign up at any of our events.
For the rest of you thanks for joining and see you all on Wednesday.

Ahh crap, wasn't around the hub yesterday/today... i was interested in signing up for the "surf and sail club"... i wonder can i sign up online or email them?

You can join any club or society at any time during the year. Just give them a shout and they will sort you out.

Yeah this thread was meant to be a Pimp your soc thing before that sticky was there. Now it's just a full stop. Which personally I prefer.

There will be 500 yo yo prizepool with the winner pocketing a whopping 200. We hope to have a few spot prizes etc to give away too.
Registration 2pm and cards dealt at 3 in the venue, places limited to 150 people.

Will it be possible to do a deal or are the cheques going to be written in advance... and make sure you actually have the cheques this year!!! - i notice that the polo shirts in the email are €20 but on clubs and socs day they were €25!!!!

Ace 2007 - Due to SPC regulations all prizes will be paid by cheque but we actually do have a chequebook so there shouldn't be any problems there!
The polo's we ordered before c&s days but we were able to discount them slightly due to our increase in numbers this year.

Robdcu - No the freeroll is on Wednesday & nothing is planned for thursday.

cooker3 - The polo's will be on sale on the day & we will be taking orders for anyone who wants polo's and/or hoodies as we will hopefully be putting in a bigger order.

Hope this clears things up folks

Is this tourny tomorrow open to those who havn't joined the pokersoc? I'm doing nothing tomorrow afternoon so I'll walk the 20 sconds from my apartment for this I think
