My wife and I booked a holiday to Disneyland Paris for us, our 4 year old son and my 8 year old nephew.
    We all hold current passports.
The question I have is, do we need special permission to take my nephew out of the country? The passport office said no, but I would feel a bit of a plank if we get to the airport and he can't board for lack of a document.
I reckon it would have to be witnessed by gardaí and signed by at least one of his parents, but so far not sure of this is an actual document and if it is required where I get it.
Anyone know the answer to this?

I dont think so. Once he's accompanied by an adult the airline will let him fly....

Can't be stopped if you have the passport, but perhaps you should make sure the parents are on call in case anyone questions it on arrival in Paris.

You don't need any permission, my mother took my son away this year. I dropped them to the airport and waited at check in just in case there were any problems but it was all fine.
