on saturday night i was djing in the club where i usually am. and this girl came up to me and said i looked really sexy and other stuff like that.Now she was gorgous. this is not the first time it happened either. but even after it happening im still shocked when its said to me and i dont know what to say back. i usually just say thank you.


What can i do???

don't say thank you- it makes you look inferior and it doesn't lead to more conversation. be yourself and try to say open ended things. "thank you" ends a conversation immediately.

agreed. "thank you" is what celebs say when you say "i'm such a big fan" or "i love your movies/music".

I lament what the perception of the words "thank you" have become. It does not mean "I love myself" it means "I am comfy enough in my own skin to accept your compliment and not squirm". Save for when used by OP.

I often find that people who make shít up to retain the interest of a person who has already expressed an interest in them to be quite uncomfortable in their own skin and invariably full of shít.

That doesn't sound too bad. What's wrong with the casual 'You don't look too bad yourself, what brings you over here?' line? Although I can imagine if you're busy DJ'ing, having an involving convo wouldn't be a priority....or a possibility.
