By popular demand, At the Drive-In's breakthrough album.

The popular demand certainly wasn't from me... I bought it on the strength of "One armed scissor" and a particularly energetic performance on Jools Holland. I think I may have listened to it 3 times, and not for at least 5 years now.

Class album, they were so different, new and fresh on Jools Holland, then I got a copy of their album on tape, and ordered the cd online afterwards, was blown away by one armed scissor and every other track as well. The sheer energy, anarchy and anger really leaped out and was invigorating to listen to. For me this album will always have the air of christmas 2000, jan-may 2001 about it.

absolutely, a fantastic album. bursting with energy. i wouldn't listen to it as much now as i did between 2001-2003 but it's still explosive and has some incredible tracks. i'll never forget non-zero possibility, amazing track.

This was probably the best complete album from 95-2000,every track is good. The atmosphere is frenetic, pure noise and energy.I love.I think it's one of the all time great rock/punk albums

To be honest, I really don't see what all the fuss is about. I remember my friend telling me about this album when it came out, then I heard "One Armed Scissor" and thought that it wasn't great but maybe the rest of the album is better. Not really. Very bland and formulaic rock (granted not a traditional formula but all the songs sound the same and the template wasn't great to begin with).
