Windows unsafe files?

    Hey all, was sent a file over msn live messenger, and for some reason windows decided it was harmful. even tho it was only a picture. im wonderin how do i view this picture anyways, because im certain it isnt harmful.. thanks a mill

    Who did you get it from (known or unknown), and in Tools>Folder Options>View in Windows Explorer, do you have "hide extensions of known file types" clicked? It may be an exe file saved as Cute_Kitten.jpg.exe (but as the exe is a known file extension, you'll only see Cute_Kitten.jpg) and thus Windows flags it.
