The first stop on my "World" Tour started off in Berlin.

As pictured here before - Berlin is a feisty number, but so easy to get around :D

Then I decided to stop off in Los Angeles.

Hmm, haven't quite got to grips with LA yet...

and finally, off to New York New York

There just so much fun to be had in NY, its always worth a visit ;)

and the gratuitous foot in picture shot

... and I never even set foot in the airport ;) Of course like any holiday I'm now broke, but hey, the memories are nice!

Over on the PEG forums, the NY is described as the workhorse range, the one I got is a 95, so its got an alder body, bolt on maple neck and rosewood fretboard. Since this would have been in the budget range (relatively speaking) the trem isn't quite as high quality as the Berlin or LA (its still a Wilkinson - not Eggle branded however) and the tuners are Sperzels but not locking.

It only arrived Friday and I gave it a setup yesterday, but so far I'm really impressed with it tonally. Its closer to my Gordon Smith than the other Eggles which is nice for the blues tones I like, but has the benefit of a thinner neck (eggles are ~42mm, GS are 45mm at the nut). Definitely worth a try if you ever get the chance.

There are also Viennas, Bostons and Milans (basses) - but I'm all travelled out at this stage :o

My Iommi model is based on the Vienna body shape, it's a pretty big slab of mahogany, substantially bigger than the Berlin and heavy as foook...

...but it has the tone :D

Doctor J that is sweet! and it even looks heavy lying on the floor! There's also an Iommi model that looks like an SG, yours is far nicer IMO. You should post some pics on the PEG form they'd love to see it.

Yeah, they made just 48 of them before they switched to the SG shape (mines #23 :D )

I should really clean it up before I take pics :p

I actually visted the factory in Coventry back in 96, got to play one of the SGs in a room full of about 20 different beautiful Eggles, a magical place :D

They'd wet themselves over on the peg forum :D

The LA I have is an MX Special (which in reality I think it was someone like Musical Exchange ordering 20 with a slightly different configuration and putting a different truss cover on), and it comes with a second back plate supposedly signed by Patrick Eggle and the number 8 of 20. Not near as interesting as yours mind!

Had the house to myself a couple of weeks ago - thankfully I remembered to water them :o
