I'll buy it in a few days I think. I'll get back with some initial reactions then. Settlers II was one of my favourite games as a kid.

What to say its O.K nothing brilliant though but only played first 3 levels
Its a real mix between Settlers 3 and 5 i think anyway

I bought it on spec when I was buying Quake Wars, as I thought it looked promising in a preview but its a bit of a disappointment. Its still enjoyable, especially since I haven't played any of the Settlers games since I don't know when, but I wouldn't bother unless you're a fan of the series or buildy-towny type games in general. By the way "buildy-towny" is the correct description of the genre before anyone asks.

Its more like a kind of micro-sim city with tacked on RTS elements. Actually probably more like the Caesar games

The old Settlers games were like the layer between the Sims and SimCity. Fun if you like town building/economic simulators, very very boring if you don't.

I downloaded it last month and have been playing it since. A great game. Very enjoyable and you have to keep all your settlers happy or else they complain! Haven't finished it yet. I am in the Red Prince's place now with three other 'heroes.' Surely near the end now.
