    Hey
Been offered a room in Bray as finding it impossible to find a room anywhere near Aungier Street or even on the luas line..
Just wondering has anyone done this commute or would it be madness?
I was thinking DART not by car but have a car also..Would imagine traffic would make this a non runner though.
    Opinions please..

It's very possible. I know many people who come from Bray and beyond

Thirty minutes at a gentle stroll via Kildare Street and past Stephens Green shopping centre.

i'm living in bray and commute to kevin street.

it's an alright commute, some people have it worse.

i normally get the 7:40 dart (which is packed) that gets me into pearse station at 8:20 then i stroll up to kevin street via merion square->baggot street->diagonal through the green->cuffe street->kevin street. takes about 20 minutes moderate walking.

i go this route to avoid nassau st/kildare st./dawson st and grafton as they are always packed with people or delivery vans.

you could get the 145 as well as the 45, but the 145 leaves you closer to college at leeson street, then it's about a 10 minute walk to aungier street.

i'm going to start taking the bus next week (as i'll be buying a student bus/rail monthly ticket) to see if it's any way faster.

i know for a fact that bus is faster if a bus arrives immedialately for you, but i find busses are way to unpredictable due to traffic, which you don't have on the dart line.

Surely those buses operating through Donnybrook are more reliable than those through Ballsbridge?

sorry should of mentioned this year my hours are fairly off peak and based "the bus is faster" on the fact that the bus i took was at 2:30 and was a 145.

only mentioned the 45 as an alternative but should never really be used unless it's totally off-peak.

and when it's peak time coming home you need to get the 145 at nassau street as it fills up by kildare street and leeson street.

Cremo, My journey is roughly the same in terms of distance and time, and I find walking to grafton street via Nassau street->Grafton street->lower Aungier street->Kevin street, is somewhat handier.

    +1

20 minute walk at a fast pace.
Not sure can you take a shortcut through Trinity anymore-that saves a few minutes

You can during regular hours (8-6ish or something). There is a new entrance to the right of the old entrance that faced Pearse station. I don't think going through Pearse saves much time but it's a nice break from drivers resting their hands on their horns - so long as you don't mind students. :)

    Must.......resist..........SMOOTHIE!!!:p
Ah now, in fairness they are quite good. The problem is that it is socially acceptable to buy these at any time of the day, especially after being sardined in a train for a long time:D

yes they are great, only fecking problem is their price.

also getting back on topic. OP if you're in a 10 any mornings you can get the 8:55 to balbriggin that lands in pearse at 9:30 as well, only taking you an hour to get to college instead of the usual 1hour 30minutes.
