www.cheapchat.ie access number is 1520 932 904 to UK mobiles. Check what your network charges for 1520 numbers (15c/min from a landline).

    From the site...
Cannot connect from your mobile??? Ring your customer services and request our numbers to be unblocked – it only takes a few seconds.
    Bill Pay
    Pay as you go
    02 1909
    1747
    Vodafone 1907
    1850 20 87 87
    Three 333
    333
    Meteor 1905
    1905

    www.telestunt.ie do a similar deal.

I haven't tried them from a mobile, but I use both regularly from landline to mobiles in Oz & Thailand and they are fairly reliable (not perfect all the time though) and well cheap!

    Ended up going with skype.

€0.017 a minute so that was ok with the bank balance.

It is and it isn't. To get free calls you have to credit your account with about €11 every 3 or 4 months. This €11 can be used when you dial mobile numbers or non free landlines. But once you do this you get free calls to piles of places. I've been using them for about a year for calling the US, Australia, Thailand etc. I think you get disconnected from a free call after 60 minutes but you can just call them back. This is reported from my missus. My average call length is 2 mins or maybe a bit longer if it's work so I never hit 60 mins.

There's a few sites like this. They're all the same companies so check the rates for where you want to call as they're slightly different.

    voipcheap.com
    voipdiscount.com
    voipstunt.com

There's probably more but I can't remember them.

Edit: unlike Skype they're SIP compatible so if you get an ATA you don't even need to use their PC client, so your PC can be off. If that's gobbledygook to you just use them like Skype.

Edit2: They've got even more companies than I thought. http://www.voipconfig.com/voipbuster_config.htm
