We were in a group that contained, including us, 3 of the top 6 teams in the world. We had to play the hosts in the hosts' capital. We performed well and let's be fair - it was only indisciple on Ireland's part that seperated the teams.
Beating France in their own back yard in their own world cup was never a possibility in the first place.

We now have to beat probably the most in-form team in the world right now by a bunch of points - it's not gonna happen.

We didn't exit from the world cup because we underperformed. We exited simply because the 2 teams in the group were better than us.
    End of story.

    Irrelevant.
As soon as Argentina beat France we were out.
France were simply not losing the game against us.

Your rather tenous grasp of world cup points and deciding factors clearly means you cannot weigh up why the dropped bonus point against Namibia is critical, and how it impacts our game on Sunday.

I know Argentina have a lot more to play for than us, I think they have better players, and better heart.
I can't imagine their players were involved in every promotional campaign this world cup had to offer.
If this was a winner takes all we'd still lose.

I agree with the OP. I never thought Ireland had a chance in this pool (see my predictions in Irish Wolf's competition). They were atrocious in the warm-up games and they have no subs... Nowadays rugby is a 22 man sport. Without a huge bench you can't win a World Cup.

However, I do still hope you beat the Argies (and I hope we beat Georgia with bonus!) so that we avoid the AB in Cardiff! BUt I don't think that's at all possible...
