How to disassemble a DBoys M4

A few people have DBoys M4's that dont have the small screw in the mag release button that usually needs to be undone to to get access to the gearbox, so it can be a bit awkward to break down the gun unless you know what to look for.

This is how to do it -

To remove the mag release button and disassemble the gun to gain access to the gearbox -

On the left hand side of the gun, above the lever connected to the mag release button on the other side, there's a small catch. Remove that from the gun by pushing the pin that holds it in place out.

Once that's out, push the mag release button in as far as it will go, past the surface of the receiver. You need to fully compress the spring holding it out.
The lever on the other side will be pushed away from the body of the receiver, and you can then unscrew it in an anticlockwise direction. This will release it from the mag release button, allowing you to disassemble the gun.

Its a bit awkward to explain, but I'm going to hopefully be at HRTA on Saturday for an couple of hours if I can get away, and I can show people in person.

Shiva, you should precise for which portion of the M41 to disassemble, i.e. to gain access to gearbox etc.

Because if it's just to access barrel/hop up assembly, there's no need to do the above (just remove the front transversal pin, on front of receiver, nearest handguard).

You're right of course Ambro...its to provide access to the gearbox.

The post was aimed at people who have a specific need to access the gearbox on a few M4's recently issued by DBoys which have a specific problem that needs to be addressed.

    I've edited the original.

    Thx.

Its specific to only a few recent releases, and I'd rather not go into it on an open forum. Sorry Ed.

And FYI for anyone reading this. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the quality of the AEG's Eirsoft.ie is selling. The problem is due to something very silly that the supplier did before shipping them to Shiva. A small issue that is easily fixed.

So don't let this put you off buying from Eirsoft.ie!
