I had quite an adventure yesterday.

    Cathedral Cave, Whiterocks.

I've been hunting for these caves for months. I managed to get hold of a local guide who pointed me in the right direction.

The spring tide, low swell and good weather all came together today. Took a day off work and down I went into the depths of the earth.

An amazing, amazing place. I'll write up a proper trip report shortly. Suffice to say that it's a scary, dangerous place that every boy should visit.

Cool! Reminds me of when I was back on that beach in Donegal some time ago.. Can't remember the name of it, but loads of caves :D

Here's another. This cave is 180feet from end to end.

And one of white rocks (bushmills?) arch from the other side. The side rarely seen.

Excellent shot. That last one on the left looks like a fossilised elephant :D

Great stuff Andy. Fascinating as well. Any chance of a colour one of the inside of the cave. Just out of curiosity?

Some very nice shots, I'd imagine there's a good bit of climbing envolved :)

Very nice shots, see any bats or batman even?

No bats, to be seen. Loads of pigeons though.

Nicely spotted Gonker, even more obvious than the elephant rock of Ballintoy.

I'll see if I can dig out a colour one Valentia.

Caball, you can get down without a rope but it's steep and a slip would be pretty nasty. The tides are more of a worry. To get to the cave you need to round a headland that is dangerous on a high swell.

Here's the photo that inspired me to visit.
