Im running the most recent version of Firefox through XP... Ever since upgrading, every so often all or some of my bookmarks just seem to vanish!
Is this a bug in the programme or Is this a virus? Any ideas? I have now learned my lesson and will save my bookmarks in live bookmarks or somewhere similar!
But would still be curious as to what might be causing this
    any ideas?

Has firefox created a brand new profile and is using that as the default ?
This can happen when the pc/laptop turns off before firefox as a process has shut down.

It has happened a few times, there was a thread in Comp/Tech about it a while ago. I will try and locate it to see if anyone found a solution. Sounds like the profile got corrupt somehow. :/ Use MozBackup for your settings and bookmarks.

Really cant be sure if that is the problem or not... but will install MozBackup anyway!
