    12 watts (RMS) wouldn't be that bad. Many, many portable stereos have but a couple of watts per channel. I was tempted to get it but it's a bit too heavy for my liking.

    Would the power supply/plug be correct for Ireland or would you need an adaptor?

    If they use a 2 pin plug they do send you the adapter, they did in my last order even that it didn't have a power supply it was charging via usb with PC
