Women in MA

This is for all the girls/women involved in any and all martial arts.

Is there any interest in as many of us as possible getting together to discuss the future of the various disciplines for us?

Before the boys start getting the whole "Milly-Tant" thing, I think I'd quite like to meet Maeve and the other girls who've posted on here even if it's just for a drink and a chat about our particular experiences.

Ladies (and gents) if anyone is interested in getting together (even if it's just a night out to talk about groing guards disguised as a "meeting" then let's do it - there aren't that many of us and Christmas is coming).

I'd be interested to hear any views on this proposition - good or bad I'm happy to hear about it as long as it isnt' in "Support of Ladies MMA" as in an earlier thread (shame on you boys!).

If you think this is a totally crap idea please also let me know but I do think that we could do with female support when we step in the ring.

ANyway I won't go on but either respond to this thread or PM me. I'm open to any and all ideas apart from getting together at Redz - please spare me that experience.

All in good nature!! girls have as much right to do martial arts or anything else if they choose-them days are long gone and most people know that and take these things as meant-a bit of humour is needed around here sometimes, anyway i'll dress up as a girl and come out with ya's, might get some of the secrets of woman!!

sounds like a great idea. Don't know how many girls post or lurk here but there should be enough based in the dublin area to have a "meeting". i'm not a girl so don't count me in but good idea hope it works out.

One way to keep the lads away would be to say it was an Ann Summers party.... run for the hills boys! They've got WINE!

I'll mention this thread to a few of the girls who train with me.

Grand idea, indeed! But I'll have to be with you in spirit (or posting on this forum) cause I'm overseas attending university for the next 3 years. May be back for the holidays. I've been into TKD for about a decade (2 dan Kukkiwon), starting in pre-teens, and have recently added weapons training: Muso Shinden Ryu with daito (long sword), but focusing on Iaijutso (cut on draw). It would be interesting to know what other women are doing in MA, and provide encouragement to them so that they don't drop out (as they often do). Ta' athas orm faoi seo!
    Sonas ort, B!ue.
