For some reason, these became a fad for a while in the mid 80s. I remember going with my mum into the Lifestyle part of Quinnsworth to get one. They were flyin' out of the shops. Mine had a green disc and a red ball. I must've been fit back then because my dad gave me £1 to bounce all the way from our house out to the end of the road and back which was a round trip of about 300 metres. They were also a good weapon for throwing at annoying younger siblings :D

We used to bounce on them and skip (with a skipping rope) while hopping at the same time. Had so much fun on them on the estate when i was a kid. Mine was green with a red ring i think....ah the memories!

I'd forgotten about trying to skip and hop at the same time! That was a tricky enough manoeuvre. Oh, and you'd need a longer skipping rope because you were suddenly much taller.

I knew someone who had a black & yellow one. I think it might have been an unofficial loloball.

Was there an Irish loloball club? For some reason I'm thinking there was but then again, I could have dreamt it all up. I mean, who'd pay lots of money to bounce around on a plastic thing that looked like the Planet Saturn.

When I saw the thread title, I immediately winced, remember the pain from the blisters you got on the insides of your feet when you just started out. It took a while for the skin to toughen up.
    They were sh!tcool tho'.

Not that I know of but they should. They were great exercise. I'm not too sure how many of our generation would want to be seen hopping around on one though :)

They were bloody lethal on loose gravel or if there were some small, loose stones lying around on the ground, though. I remember seeing friends bouncing around on those things and then they'd hit the gravelly patch and the thing would skid out from underneath them and they'd end up skinning their hands and knees! Ouch!

i still have a scar from splitting my head open trying to hop up a path on one of these! Ours was light blue and dark blue i think.

Watch this space - I bet its only a matter of time before they make a comeback.

Personally I found them impossible to use but then again I probably had one from the pound shop............. ;)

Mine had a red disc and a yellow ball ... I also won a medal on sports day in the Loloball section. Skipping on one of these is dangerous!

Orange Ball, black disc. We called them fun hoppers though!

Fun hoppers were the cheaper version, great too but the ball bit would come out after a while.
