Hey, sorry for being a bit annoying but I was just so delighted when I got vista working in paralells considering i'm a complete newbie to mac and to my shiny new macbook pro, the screenshot is below, so if anyone needs any help just give me a shout. I think OSX is way better than vista but i need windows for watching all the premiership games online thats the only reason i installed it...

Ooh lovely!! Welcome to the Mac forum. I think I remember a post you made in the laptops forum, that you?

Well done getting it all setup, nice job and enjoy being on the brightside. Checkout some of the stickies at the top of the forum for tips as well.

see you're using vista, stand beside a power outlet all the time so as vista absolutely devours battery.

thanks, it could well have been me asking in the laptops forum, I was deciding for a while wether or not to switch to mac because I use tonnes of software but once i found out it could run Windows I took the plunge, and haven't looked back. one of the main things i love about mac is the way that when you plug any device into it (eg camcorder, mobile), it just works, no cd's, no drivers, no hassel, i just love it!

really? i didnt know that, would it help if i used XP because i'm not really fussy about which version i use, i'll rarely be using it anyways, just for the footie match's as I mentioned.

    A Mac fan who's also a United fan ! Welcome !! ;)

Have you tried any of those streams yet, I'm curious if they'll work under parallels considering that the graphics chips are only accessed through Mac OS X and not directly by Windows.

Also try out Flip4Mac. This works with some streams that use .wmv files.

Vista should perform ok on the MBP with a good amount of RAM > 1GB assigned to it. Personally I prefer XP Pro - far less resource hungry and as mentioned above kinder to your battery.

Welcome to the family - in both senses ! ;)
