i should have thought of that.

i took him on his first outing monday evening to a few old burrows i know. i didnt have the locater, its my friends so i just settled for a bell and collar (big mistake). i had him getting used to the burrows and everything was fine he was going in one and popping out another. i was walking back up the field and said id try one more before we went. in he went and the bell went quite and that was that. two hours later still no sign. went home and got a kidney and left my ferreting box with the treat inside and came back the next morning but still no sign and did the same at lunch time. that evening brought down another older ferret and put the locator on him and sent him in, but he just bolted one rabbit and killed another.

im raging, because i bought him in wales as i kit and reared him like a pet. wherever i walked he would follow faithfully beside me, i was able to call him to hand and he would sit on my shoulder and wouldnt even think of biting. he was a rare on now i have to say. it was pure bad luck and stupididty on my part by not putting a locater on him. i even went to the people who live near the field and gave them my number and told them to call me if they seen him. i dont know what hapened him and im sick over it.
