I have Vista ultimate on a Dell Latitude.

I have Windows media center and an S-video output.

I want to be able to watch stuff on the telly that is playing off the laptop and to be able to record TV. It would be great if I could somehow select the programs I want to record like Sky+.

Also, what solution should I use for a remote with Windows media center. I have bluetooth but would that stretch.

as far as hooking up your laptop to the tv goes, get an S-Video cable in maplins (be careful make sure you get the right one to match your latop - i think its 5 pin or 8) and buy an s-video to scart lead...

i've the same setup and the cables etc cost about 6 quid

you'll need to get the sound from the computer to the TV too. a 3.5mm jack to red white phone lead will do this.

IMO typically the S video output on a laptop is not an input too, you'll need a tuner card to allow you to record TV on the computer, for this (best bet for a laptop would be a USB, there are a good few of them, PC world etc carry them if you dont want to wait for better on line value make sure it will work with the OS you have first)
then you'll need to connect the TV cable to the Tuner Card.
