    Fifa = Bad
    PES = Good

    I wonder what PEs will be like in the Wii, probably not to good as the controls could be wierd

    I prefer PES too, but this is better than nothing. PES 2008 has been announced I think.

    I got the Jap version of PES for the gamecube, Winning Eleven 6. For such an old title, it's a cracker of a game. Right up there with it's younger cousins.

    Theres a patch floating around on the net that translates a bit of the game from Japanese to English, quite handy. :)

    must say this game is greatfun..........the over the top look can be changed by using a diff camera angle, making it look like normal fifa....only question is

    has anyone had any issues trying to play online on eircom broadband???
    when i try to connect to an 'opponent' it keeps loosing the connection :(

    Pro Evo on the DS is a chronic load of sh*te, Fifa 08 is without doubt the best on that console.
    Not tried the wifi function though.

    The controls are perfect..id recomend change the camera to broadcast and you got a great footie game for the wii. It feels like a fifa game if you know what i mean. I hust hope pro evo wii feels like a pro evo game

    I've changed the camera angle too. Good fun football game. Probably won't spend hours on it but for two player its great craic.

    Haven't played online

    Got it after work yesterday and played it until 1am last night (had to watch the Celtic match in between though ;) ).

    First impressions were "mmm, graphics are nice.....no jaggies on my 42" plasma...". Went on to do all the tutorials and kinda enjoyed getting used to playing a real soccer game with the remote&nunchuk though it did take some getting used to, even after whoopin ass in Mario Strikers. The whole "flick up/down" to shoot thing took the most time to get used to and my timing was completely off for a while.

    Then I started playing matches. After the first match I was beginning to re-think my purchase as it was messy and wildly inaccurate.
    After the third one I was keeping the game after all - there was one main reason why I thought it was crap.....I haven't played a FIFA game since the mega drive and I'm spoiled with playing PES6 on my mates 360 for ages.
    That, and maybe Drogheda United ain't the most talented team in the game.
    (By the way, you're asked for your favourite team when you start the game up for the first time and that's who you play as in the interactive leagues and one player tourneys - I chose them 'cause I went to a few of their matches when I lived near Drogheda).
    I haven't decided on the best camera angle yet but I don't like the broadcast one - currently on "tele" but it's maybe a bit too far away from the action.
    Also haven't gone online yet as I'm waiting on eircom to connect me :(.

    After a while I was chipping in a cross to be met with pretty good bicycle kicks or diving headers and somehow, something clicked. I've got it now.

    I can FIFA08...:D

    After that, I tried the mini games (didn't want to touch them really but I've made a purchase now and was thinking "I want to see how bad they are").

    "By the Hammer of THOR!" !!! - There’s good fun to be had there!
    ...well, except for the penalty kick targets one; that kinda sucks.
    Keepy-uppie is a rhythm based game that works really well and the fact that it's your Mii on screen getting all sad when you drop the ball is even cooler.
    Table football rocks....sure it feels like it should have been one of the games in Wii Play, but it is a lot of fun and has surprised the bejebus outta me - (hang on, I'm having fun with a FIFA game?!).

    Went back to the main game after a while of that and started a season (Eircom League). The highest score I got was 3-0 against Sligo Rovers (anyone who knows how bad they are in real life - that's replicated fully here!). Bloody UCD got me 1-0 though and I'm second in the table with a game in hand - might be up late again tonight. :)

    I've a way to go to get really good at the game as some of the moves (one-two lobs) are tricky to remember when you're in a panic but I've a friend coming over this weekend who has been playing FIFA all his life and it'll be interesting to find out his opinion.

    Overall, I'm glad I got it - it'll keep me going nicely until a good PES comes to Wii.

    I got FIFA 08 over the weekend for my Wii and I must admit that I am alittle disappointed with it. The last FIFA title that I owned was FIFA 06 on the PS2 and FIFA 08 on the Wii is basically the same game!!! :mad: The graphics & game play are both extremely similar and the only differences that I can see are the addition of of a couple of new leagues and the Wii weird control mecinisim that just doesn't feel right (pull the Wii controller 'up' for a powerful shot and 'down' for a finesse shot).

    I actually played it on the Xbox 360 and I was blown away by the excellent controls and stunning visuals. (I'm sure the PS3 version is just as good or maybe even better).

    Unfortunately FIFA 08 on the Wii is a real letdown :(
