Organisation Chart Software - Best One ?

Microsoft Word's built-in Drawing menu has an organisation chart feature that makes things more complex-looking than they really are by zig-zagging subordinate relations that should really be vertical straight lines. Can anyone recommend a better software pack for these charts? Freeware preferred, of course.

Don't know about freeware but Microsoft Visio might be worth a look. It handles Org Charts quite well.
