Hey I`ve just watched star wars all my life and love it.but sumtin struck me today when i watched episode 1,When qui gon pushes darth maul off the bridge (in the final battle before he dies) with the force then jumps down to finish off the fight.just as he goes down maul`s lightsaber is in the inside of qui gon as he lands, but when the camera turn we see the darth maul`s lightsaber move through qui gon.

Has anyone noticed this before and what do they think??

It's just a movie glitch. They happen all the time. Here's more:

There's a mistake with that film much earlier on. It happened when George sat down and opened MS Word.

I think this is the least of the worries you should have with the Star Wars films.

Good call. I wish time machines were invented so that I could at least erase Jar Jar Binks... He caused more trouble than he solved.

EP1 wasn't as bad as EP2 and 3. at least Yoda talks like he always did and Lucas didn't go off on a tangent with him. there's one thing he says in EP3 and every time I hear it I get a severe urge to eject the disc and smash it with a hammer. he says it right before a small transport ship takes off with himself and Mace on board. and all that shíte he says before and at the beginning of his fight with Palpatine

really the only thing that brought EP1 down was Jar Jar. the fight at the end was one of, if not THE best fight in the entire series

the podrace was completely and utterly pointless, and medichlorians? pfft.. and dont get me started on trade disputes and taxation...

You're right about the three way dance being the best lightsabre fight though..

The problem with ep1-3 is that it exposed lucas as the talentless hack he is and all the SW nerds no longer had a defense of "oh it was groundbreaking in the 70's" or "ahead of its time" to excuse the originals' chronic failings. The worse piece of **** series of films ever made.

True. Ironic that a guy who's always been pushing cinematic technology still writes his first drafts with pencil and paper. :)

As for the glitch, ah well you can't win em all. I'm sure he'll fix it in the Prequels special editions.

My only defence is I was 7. I never try to explain it. Add it to your list of lame excuses we might throw out from time to time.

as bad as the eps 1-3 were, you have to consider a few points.

    * Kids loved jar jar binks. Jar jar memorabilia were a big sell. I found young anakin more irratating than jar jar. Now that im all growed up, i find c3po quite irrating and he unfortunatley is a plot devise far too often in the flicks. I also hated and still hate those bloody ewoks!
    * lucas "modernised" the jedi saber fights, and as already said ep 1 duel with maul were the best in the series
    * they were the most expensive and successful independent films of all time
    * they're a kids film
    * lucas directed all 3 where he didnt direct empire or rotj. hes not a good director.

as for mistakes, they are plenty in all of the films. Big one in episode 1 is the pod race where one of the competitors isnt in his pod during a part of the race!!

LOL, I don't do that type of humour well, but I try... :(

Anyway, yeah I have to say, for me, Darth Maul was the coolest thing in that film and the only character that made if bearable.

EP 2: Boring...and way too up its own arse.

    EP 3: Mildly amusing.

Sure, but there's a difference between people who liked the films as kids, and people who think that SW films are among the best ever made. There's nothing wrong with liking star wars, but there's a lot wrong with thinking they're brilliant films.
