Items removed on eBay (not mine)

I've been watching a couple of items on eBay from the same seller, and they have all been removed; I get an invalid item when I enter the Item ID.

The item was pretty much the best price on eBay and very cheap shipping, which can be enough to set the alarm bells ringing.

However, the seller has good feedback for similar items from buyers who have decent feedback themselves, so from that angle it looks above board - i.e. not €1 sales to new accounts or anything.

Anyway, he no longer has any items for sale. I've sent him a message asking what the story is, but now I'm not too confident at all. I was on the verge of buying the item last night, so I'm thinking I may have dodged a bullet and should just cough up for the next cheapest one?

His account may have been compromised. Or he might have been expecting a shipment of them cheap that fell through so he removed all his auctions. Quite probable that you dodged a bullet.

Got a reply back from him, said that there was problem with the wording so they were taken down. Doesn't sound like his account was compromised, but quite hesitant now. Wouldn't mind, but the seller with the item next closest in price is charging £40 postage from the UK, and it's just a GPS.

Yup, ebay word filter is notorious for closing auctions early. I don't know what watchwords they use or how it works but I've seen many items I was watching vanish off the system and appearing again a while later...
