    Ordered Sky+ with Multiroom last week, the bloke came today to set it up. So of course he arrives and says that all he can do is put the Sky+ in as that's what is says on his sheet. Then asks me if I got any letters from sky with new viewing card which I hadn't. So he fires away and puts the Sky+ in the sitting room even though I originally wanted it upstairs and leave the original box where it was.

    So of course 10mins after he leaves postman comes with 3 letters from sky stating that it was Sky+ with multiroom etc and the viewing card aswell. So what can I do now to get it sorted without spending half an hour on the phone to sky?

    Phone the bloke or the contract company he works for and tell them that you ordered multiroom you have the cards and you want it sorted straight away

    Well I am not sure who he worked for tbh he left and said he would phone sky and they would contact me about it and get it sorted alas they didn't phone. Iphoned them and spent 40 minutes in 2 phone calls about 30 minutes spent on hold, put between 4 different depatments and I was hung up on aswell.

    So I fired off an email to sky threatening to cancel the subscription etc etc lets see what they say.

    ring sky an say you want to cancel sub. when they ask why (they will ask why) tell them the story about the installer putting the box in the wrong rom etc.

    i think they will want to get it sorted rather than risk losing a new multiroom sub


    same thing happened to me (the installer arriving before the cards, that is)
    the guy put in all the cables but wouldnt leave the boxes as he wouldnt be paid by sky unless the install was completed with valid sky cards, or something similar. when the cards did arrive, i called the installer and he connected the boxes in a couple of seconds and completed the install.

    Did you not sign his job sheet and he give you a copy. He is probably a sub sub contractor for either Sierra communications or Finlays. where did you order the multiroom job

    Ah now that you jogged my memory I believe he was from Finlays alright, got no word back from E mail I sent so I shall give it till tommorow for them to reply and then I'll try harrassing them somemore.

    I rang sky direct and ordered it, can't understand how they can make such stupid mistakes tbh. But the run round on the phone was ridiculous, passed from one dept to another and then back to the one I began with, all the while having to explain the story each time. What cna you do but get upset over it!!!
